AREA DESCRIPTION: REDMAUNT HOLD
Once there was a large mountain that rested here, but when it erupted (and drove away all forms of life in the process), it was diminished. Now the Hold is nothing but a series of natural sink-holes; the largest being the caldera of the mountain, which sinks in to the soil in the form of an immense dustbowl. Whatever remained of the mountainous slopes was eradicated after the intensity of the eruption, leaving the lands flat and desolate, save for the cavernous, irregular dish in the earth. The center of the dish has become a sulfuric pond that only the most desperate of creatures choose to drink from. It is possible to find a path down to it by using the naturally forming cave system, built like a system of veins within the earth. These routes are unstable for the most part, leading to some adventurers losing their lives to cave-ins.
